Last month I had an opportunity  to attend the launch of "Living in Language", Edited by Erica Hesketh. The Poetry Translation Centre 's groundbreaking anthology of lyric essays, fragments, letters and new poems from 21 poets from around the world.

VENTSPILS INTERNATIONAL WRITERS' AND TRANSLATORS' HOUSE RESIDENCY: Starptautiskā Rakstnieku un tulkotāju māja

 

At the weekend on 13th May with Ventspils University of Applied Sciences erasmu & reguler students from various faculties in an impromptu poetry workshop at Ventspils house writers residency. The keyword was for this writing workshop was आगमन "The Arrival".

My thanks Peeter and Marina for being there and particpate in the writing.

वर्ष 2019 के लिए श्री हरिवंश राय बच्चन (लेखन सम्मान) लिए य़ू.के. हिन्दी सम्मान  के लिए उच्चायोग की चयन समिति ने मुझे सम्मान के लिए चुना।

 बारहवें विश्व हिन्दी सम्मेलन फिज़ी ( 15-17 फरवरी )

फिज़ी  में आयोजित  बारहवें विश्व हिन्दी सम्मेलन  के लिए  विश्व हिन्दी सम्मान के लिए मुझे चुना गया।
इस प्रतिष्ठित सम्मान के लिए  विदेश व गृह मंत्रालय व अन्य सहयोगी संस्थाओं की निर्णायक समिति और भारतीय उच्चायोग का हृदय से आभारी हूँ। दीर्घ काल से लंबित  कामकाजी निजी यात्राओं के कारण मैं फरवरी में व्यस्त था । इसलिए मुझे बहुत खेद है कि इस दुर्लभ अवसर पर मैं चाहकर भी फिज़ी ( 15-17 फरवरी ) में व्यक्तिगत रूप से सम्मिलित न हो सका।

कविता  - खोए बच्चों के नाम

To the Lost Children

I want to write to the lost children,
those whose clothes hung from the branches
of the mulberry tree, getting smaller
as the branches grew.
The tree gets thicker and thicker
until years later I see the old tree
bent over its own shadow.
The clothes turn to shreds;
their memories mix in the wind,
dissolve in water, sink under the seasons,
fade like a forgotten poem.
I set out to write about myself
but I start talking of someone else.
My contemporaries are growing older.
One day they too will go missing
like the lost children: one day.
One day will go missing out of many.
I want to write a letter
to the lost children
posted from their lost childhood.
