New Poems - Mohan Rana

Three New Poems in Translation.

These three poems were translated from Hindi by Lucy Rosenstein and the Irish poet Bernard O’Donoghue.

From 'Eclipse':

'Trying to overcome the dark,
we become dazzled by shining bulbs.
Nothing is visible in this glowing darkness,'

From 'The Cartographer':

'Between the lines it’s you,
absent, but a silent presence
just as the rain is absent in the passing clouds.'

From 'An Obsessive Tune':

'Night passed and the morning came,
though, tossing and turning, I got nowhere.
A journey, dear friend, to wrong places.'
