कविता अपना जनम ख़ुद तय करती है / The poem Chooses Its Own Birth

Year ago I wrote an essay 'कविता अपना जनम ख़ुद तय करती है ' (The poem Chooses Its Own Birth) for an anthology of essays  "Living in Language" ed. Erica Hesketh(2024) published by Poetry Translation Centre London, launched in the Writers Centre Norwich this year.

I am thankful for this opportunity as I rarely write prose. It allowed me to write an outline of my own roots of poetry and the processes within.

लंदन में एक दिन

 

पिछले बरस फरवरी में 12वें 'विश्व हिन्दी सम्मेलन' में अपरिहार्य कारणों से मैं फ़िजी नहीं जा सका, आवागमन का प्रबंध भारत सरकार का था।

तथापि लंदन बीता परसों एक दिन।

फ़िजी में सम्पन्न हुए 12वें विश्व हिन्दी सम्मेलन का 'विश्व हिन्दी सम्मान' उस दिन भारतीय उच्चायोग लंदन  में सादर प्राप्त हुआ।

उच्चायोग में मंत्री समन्वय दीपक चौधरी जी और संस्कृति अताशे नंदिता जी को बहुत धन्यवाद।

 

लंदन में ही देर दोपहर लंबे अरसे से लंबित ललित मोहन जोशी जी और कृष्ण बजगाईं जी  से ब्रिटिश फिल्म इंस्टिट्यूट में मुलाकात हुई, समय कम था फिर भी एक अच्छी यादगार मुलाकात ।

फिर ट्रेन वापस । कि एक दिन ऐसा हुआ।

Last month I had an opportunity  to attend the launch of "Living in Language", Edited by Erica Hesketh. The Poetry Translation Centre 's groundbreaking anthology of lyric essays, fragments, letters and new poems from 21 poets from around the world.
